The Porsche 926RB

I've always been a fan of the Porsche 944, even though the engine was awful I think that car looked amazing, so I wanted to reimagine it in a restomod way.

I started by modifying the whole body, pretty much the only thing left in stock form is the roof and the A pillars, I gave the body a more muscular look with wider fenders, lower and more modern bumpers, I gave it daytime running lights, the headlights are now LED and have been moved to the front bumper (emulating the new trends in the automotive industry) and the tail lights are inspired by the Hyundai Ioniq 5 that I think nails the retro futuristic look.

Of course the engine wouldn't be left untouched so I did an engine swap and put an RB26 single turbo engine in the bay, some purists might hate the engine choice but the RB26 is a test and proven engine with millions of aftermarket parts and proven reliability so it made sense to me to go with something that could deliver a good amount of power while also being reliable and fun to drive.

Moving to the interior I did a complete interior swap from a Porsche Carrera 992 to give it all the modern tech like digital dash, heated seats, sequential gearbox with paddle shifters, etc.

The wheels are Vossen ERA 4's that to me have just the right balance between retro and modern look which is exactly what I wanted to achieve with the whole car.

Everything has been modeled in Blender and rendered in Corona Renderer in 3Ds Max.
